Spring Updates

Sarasota Opera's costume collection is one of the largest in North America, comprised of over 50,000 costumes from 135 opera productions, critically lauded and available for rent. We provide custom rentals from a variety of periods for use in theater and film.

We've been working with Opera Orlando costume designer Jen Madison to help create their vision of a bustle version of The Merry Widow, using select pieces of our La traviata collection.

Our 2017 The Italian Girl in Algiers production will appear this summer at the Northern Lights Music Festival.

Several dresses from our La bohème production will feature in a new production Kamalehua: The Sheltering Tree at Hawai'i Opera Theatre in May. We have been working with costume designer Maile Speetjens on this project.

Getting Ready for Next Season

The 2026-27 Season at Sarasota Opera brings Verdi's La traviata, Janáček’s Jenůfa (featuring a new costume production!), and the company debut of Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore. We look forward to sharing photos soon of these new productions!
