Sarasota Opera's costume collection is one of the largest in North America, comprised of over 50,000 costumes from 135 opera productions. The productions designed for Sarasota Opera have been critically lauded and are available for rent. We also provide custom rentals from a variety of periods for use in theater and film.

La bohème goes to Aspen...
La bohème opens the 2026 Winter Opera Festival in Sarasota but right now, our 1890s costumes are on their way to Aspen for performances next month of a production directed by Katherine M. Carter, who will also return to Sarasota to direct The Merry Widow in February! Read more here...

Something new in the works...
The last time Sarasota Opera staged The Merry Widow was 1988, which means when the operetta made the 2026 Winter Festival line up, it was time for a new costume production! Check out some of Sarasota Opera Resident Costume Designer Howard Tsvi Kaplan's sketches for Sarasota Opera's 2026 production of Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow.
